Hi guys, my shrimps gave birth but i do not know which shrimps are they because i have yamato, cherry and crs in my tank. The young are colorless. Does anyone know the colors of the young of those shrimps and when will they take on their adult color?

    most likely cherry shrimplets..

yamato - They cant breed in FW tanks.
CRS - shrimplets are born with the red and white strips.
Cherry shrimps - Shrimplets are born either colourless or having little red.. till they grow bigger than the red start to come.. but some shrimplets do have pale red colour days after they are born.

    my 2cents.

Edit : saw your sig, guess you don't have to worry about what shrimps are they because you have so many tetras/rasboras in your tank.. very high chance the shrimplets would be eaten, unless yours is a very very heavily planted tank.

    Agree with EvolutionZ.

Was horrified to witness one night my prized full-red adult barried female attacked by one of my three Golden Barbs and eaten alive.

    Babies? Well, good luck...

thks guys for the advise but my tank is very heavily planted. i cannot catch the shrimps even if i wanted to because they are all inside thick vegetation. Does anyone know when the cherries will grow to sizes large enough to fend for themselves?

Fully support the advise not to place fishes (other than Otos) together with dwarf shrimps, especially if you intend to breed the latter.

In nature, shrimplets do have the advantage of a large environment to hide from predators but in replicated settings with fishes, their chance of survival is slim...

Get them out if you can if not...only the strongest or the fastest survive. God Bless their soul.
