Uhm, can I please request that you guys not go off track with unrelated topic like so and so fish farms?
Matt, any place that can keep Capybaras should really not be called a museum, but a zoo!
Anyway, I see that there is some sort of rainfall in the enclosure, probably to simulate the rainy season in the Amazon. Do they actually simulate the dry season as well? If so, would be curious on how do they do that, perhaps by lowering the water levels etc?
Wow, this place has now been earmarked as my must visit destination of the future.
Wow guys glad you enjoyed the pics so much! I should have answers to all questions soon as I´m trying to wangle an interview with the guy in charge of the exhibit. Will also take a better camera next time.
wow wow... cannot imagine the scale of the maintenance to be done.

Magnificent! I didn't know that cardinals & corys live with the giants in the amazon! Wonder how did they survive, or even breed in the same river?
Imagine changing your own house into that...wait someone here already did.
Well, the Amazon isn't just one river. At its widest, it's probably as wide as Singapore or more, while there are thousands of tributary streams that feed the main river which form different habitats.
WOW! magnificient! Thank u for sharing man
Thanks & Regards,
Trevor
Awesome...i wish i could be there one day...

Wow. That is one cool museum. Impressive
impressive.. definitely is a must place for me to visit when going Barcelona.. didnt know such museum exist.. just totally awesome. thanks for the insight
Simply Stunning Matt! Especially love the pictures on those red bellied pirahnas and those huge pacus. I just wonder....behind all this beauty, the degree of maintenance required.
Stunning 'field report' Matt. Can't wait to see the next one. Thank you very much for showing it to us and for the nice commentary.
This place certainly puts to shame the local zoo+aquaria.
The only point I'd 'whine' about is not seeing a school of large altums and also a large school of heckel discus in blackwater.

Hehe thanks all! I'm living in the south of Spain at the moment but we return to Barcelona in October and I hope to speak with the curator of the exhibit finally. Will update this when I have more.
