Went back to the same place to shoot one morning - that's when I shot the birdie. Anyway, here's crabbie. This is one cooperative crab ... um spider ... um gal.

And this one was shot on 3 frames and stacked together.

Magnification? I think life size. Strange thing is I remember using the TC but the EXIF info says I didn't. So should be close to life size. Near the minimum focusing for #3.

this is 1:1? that means you cropped heavily going by the size of the grass flower?

    Choy,
Ok, I check the EXIF again. It seems my memory is correct, I did use the 2xTC. The focal length in the EXIF still register as 180 but max aperture is no longer 3.5. Anyway, with the 2xTC in and close to minimum focusing range, then it's close to 2x life size. If you are wondering, I did not crop picture 3 and 4.

    Benny,
    Thanks.

Hi luenny, I'm just starting to experiment with macro photography. Can i ask which macro lenses, adaptor (if any) and flash you used to capture this? Also, were you using tripod during this shoot? Its very well taken
    Thank you for your attention

    Hi Burnz,
I use Tamron 180mm macro for this - but if you're a Nikon user and you're looking for a macro lens, I strongly recommend Nikon 200mm Macro. Anyway, for some of the shots, I add an additional 2x TC. All of the shots above were done with flash - I adjust the flash compensation based on the condition. And yes, I use tripod, mirror lock up mode and shutter release.

    Loke,
    Glad you like it.
