Hi guys, I have a 1ft tank. now or before when i had plants they usually never make it.no green fingers i guess. right now i got a 1ft tank. for some encouragement i hope someone can recommend a easy foreground plant and background plant. the tank is fitted with 18w PL light with DIY CO2. ADA fert and plan to place grey small stones over it. i posted a WTB thread to get the Vallisneria spiralis 'Tiger' or Vallisneria caulescens (background) and Sagittaria subulata(foreground). i learned that these are not demanding plants. besides these can help to list plants which you guys have tried and successfully make your tank beautiful.

Thanks guys and greatful for any post from you. thanks.

I have Sagittaria subulata in my 1 feet cube with 18W lighting & no CO2. It reaches the surface . So, my foreground is now like background .

Hygrophilla difformis is a beautiful background plant & it is easy to take care of.

ben, you use hygrophilia difformis as a foreground plant in a 1ft tank? I'm using it as a background in my 4x2x2!

you can try e.tennellus, mine is growing well under 11w,no CO2,chiller and fert tank. I'm not sure if there is a smaller variant of Sagittaria subulata because mine all grow nice and short.

Maybe the experts bros like to confirm?

You'll never go wrong with any anubias species. Simply Indestructible. Can be used as foreground or background depending on which variant you go for.

I think one will do no wrong to plonk in a water wisteria (h. difformis) in any tanks 1ft and larger. They just grow! If you can't get it to grow, better not try going into planted tanks (Just kidding ). Same for water sprites.

Java moss and ferns are good starter plants as well. The anubias and some crypts are good for small tanks too.
