It's not stupid, other forumers have tried growing the same algae.

As for BGA, give us more details about your tank, so we can help you more.

Why use punctuation? See what a difference it makes:
A woman, without her man, is nothing.
A woman: without her, man is nothing.

    don't get you
    so have you scrubbed it?
the thing about bga is you just need to keep on removing it physically
it isn't very tenacious (talking about it's ability to stick physically to objects) and will usually get sucked up by a siphon

    hi inque

errh sorry to ask, are you sure it is BGA? BGA is a thick dark green goo like thing that smears everywhere and what is typically unique about it is the smell that it produces..when it dries up, it turns blue in color and stains like ink.

this is one very difficult algae to get rid of next to BBA...I have tried:

50% water change every 5 days
    physically remove infected plants
bleach and soak in boiling water
    chemical warfare

and still i lost..what i did was to drain off water, wash gravel, wash filter, bleach and soak plus sunning equipment. Basically what i am trying to say is to redo your tank...this way its faster....

PS..I wasted four months trying to combat this algae which comes with poor water circulation.

David... can be hard or easy...

When I got BGA, all I did was snip of the infected plants, increase CO2 & nutrient fertilization, and do a water change.... never saw it again.

Inque... just to be sure you didn't get confused... when you touch the algae did it feel slimy like mucus?

Try the mechanical methods of removing BGA first. Such as water changes and physical removal. If all else fails, you can try antibiotic treatment as discussed in this thread.
