Went to Panti Forest with Richard. The place reminds me of pictures from Mike's (Kuching) posting. Beautiful place with lots of wildlife. Unfortunately, when we were there, there were lots of rain too. Well, fortunately, Richard found this beautiful crab spider (known as lemon chocolate crab spider - family Thomisidae) which really made my day. Well, at least didn't come back empty handed, or rather with empty memory card.

What the crab!!! One thing i always wanted to ask.... Have any spider jump onto your lens before, since you always have to get so close to them...

Yes it happens once when I was shooting jumping spider. It made a web across my lens hood. Good thing crab spiders don't jump.

Cute little thing. Thanks for sharing!

BTW, did you do something to the pictures? The outline of the leaf has a bit of unnatural edge halo thingy. Oversharpened and a bit noisy?

If you're talking about the top part of first picture, it's because I do selective blur. The background is very noisy. Didn't turn out too good did it?

Yup. Don't worry, I don't think many people noticed.

Panti Forest is near Kota Tinggi in Johor, Malaysia. It's roughly 2 hours drive if you are going from Singapore.
