Carpet plant....Nature Aquarium has moss as carpet plant. You can use relatively low light with this plant. This plant will benefit from C02 but can also survive without CO2 injection. But the growth will be painfully slow.
I have dwarf cichlids in my tanks! Do you?
Been to Nature Aquarium yet? Chan uses java moss and christmas moss as foreground carpet in a few tanks. Without CO2 the won't grow so well though. And they grow very, very slow.
You can use the DIY method if you intend to save money. The moss can tahan the inconsistency and lower levels of DIY CO2.

it just that i want to make some decoration in my lh 2ft tank.. which currently looks bare only with gravel.. but i have overhead filter.. hmm..
if i make DIY CO2 .. and make fill it using BELL is it the overhead water agition will bit all the co2 that ive made?
echinodorus tennelus or sagitarria subulata will grow well without CO2 injection.
SlapShock... your question about the bell is very hard to understand.
I assume you want to know whether its good enough? Yes, if you intend to use it for plants that need little CO2 and low lights.
Sagitarria subulata in low light tend to grow tall.

what i mean about the bell is the one bottle that put upside down in tank
maybe if you phrased it clearly people will understand what you're asking [:]
anyway, i don't get what exactly it is you're asking other than something about the diy co2 bell reactor
I understand that LH dig, move and destroy rite? so it is unlikely that anything will make it in the gravel.
You might be lucky with some Java fern, anubias, or moss on rock or wood though. Algae might works also, but it is kind of hard to grow when you WANT it to.

SlapShock,
I'm still guessing the question... you asking if the bell is the bottle, with the top cut off and then placed upside down in the tank? If so, yes.
And I also doubt your plants will last in a LH tank.

yes co2 bell reactor
err.. my LH dont DIG, i dont think LH destroy plants .. LH dont eat plants
sLapshock, of course Lh don't eat plants - that'll be the day! [] [] [] But they do have a habit of mouthing gravel and sand and spitting it somewhere else. It's their nesting behaviour. Is yours a young LH - I dunno much abt LH, but perhaps it'll displace your gravel once it come of age?
I think that's what most of us in the Planted Tank Community are worried about. Maybe I can suggest something here? use a mesh to tie down your moss (if you're keen on using it) and cover part of your tank? It keep the plants in place (more or less) But i still think you should give your LH some gravel to place with - unless your LH is a strand that doesn't spawn in gravel pits...
I think LH and planted tanks just don't mix. You don't see Pet safari with such a tank because it can't be done. Maybe java moss and fern on driftwood, but not carpet stuff. LHs dig too much and are multi-layer fish unlike the aro (surface level), so, your plants are gonna get eaten or dislodged
Yea.. thats what i want to do.. moss tied on frift wood .. what i worried about is moss cant live without high light because im using a 26w FL light..
