Peacock/Spiky Moss tie on the wood! Pebbles are added on the beach to enhance the natural look.

My COMMANDO fish, platy! to cycle the tank!

Added the mini riccia tie on the pebbles. Remove the big mini riccia rocks infront.

My Ludwigia Arcuata melted 70% ... But the 30% has reborn
Blyxa japonica also melted , Blyxa japonica are more stable in mature tank, learned my lesson.

Is "Ludwigia Arcuata", i got it from Colourful but is in emmersed state, it melted 70%. Got 2 pots but 1 pot Colourful sold me 50cent as it is not in good condition, i just grabed it, maybe why it melted 70%.

Time to replace the inlet and sponge with surface skimmer.

Too bad the sun is in sunset stage as Ludwigia Arcuata melted 70%. , at least 30% survive. Narrow Leaf Java Fern here act as a cloud during sun rise. Currently the plant has went through trimming stage as it grew wild now. Hope you guys like it, at least my wife and son like it, that's most important. ...

Adrian, great journal to begin with.. looking forward to your updates.
A pity the Ludwigia Arcuata melted though... or else the sun should be there.

    Cheers!

Thanks Salphur! Richard from Colourful did remind me Ludwigia Arcuata condition was not very good but i just bought it and plant it, somehow there's still 30% still surviving and new shoots coming out. This is my first time using ADA Amazonia 2 soil, notice some of the plant just melted off but no doubt is a very strong nutrient soil, those melted would be more advisable in mature tank. This setup is still too early to predict as i may change some of the things to make it better.

    Hi Adrian,

    Me thinks you have 'collectoritis'
Judging from your high speed course, I would say it's hard to resist buying! At the height of my 'collectoritis', i had more than 40 species in my 3X2X2 tank.

Looks good so far. I'd stop buying for the moment and save yourself some money. The plants grow...I think you will need a bigger tank.

And bigger tank you shall get

Looking real good there... love your small pebbles. Next is to learn how to trim your stems to achieve the best dense growth look

Something i'm hopeless at, trimming stem plants. I seem to kill them when i trim them Or they grow stems out horizontally instead of vertically from the cut and look ugly as hell - as my H. rosanervig has done currently.

Haha Roland, I didn't mention I had kept more than 40 types of other types of plants in the 5 ft tank. Luckily I'm better now.

There is no sense in keeping 7 types of mosses and 8 types of ferns and 10 types of crypts plus all the other assorted expensive must haves. [eriocaulons, toninas, fissidens etc.] Slowly junked all of it. Reformed...

Hahaha... Actually most of the plant is recycle from the old tank, and some is FOC from forum member, . Maybe i'll consider a 3X2X2 Aquatic plant collection center or anyone want to dispose their plant can contribute there. ... Maybe plants are pretty cheap here.

I think everybody will encounter "planted tank syndrome", buy and buy, add and add till they realise no more place to put and later keep it as simple as possible. Is my turn to enjoy this "planted tank syndrome", i really enjoying the FUN!!!...

This is the closeup view for you, the pebbles. I build this tank for this pebbles effect, it really looks good.

I will fill up the white sand to the wood like a path along the way between the rocks.

White sand is pretty hard to maintain, green algae likes to grow on it. I'm now trimming the background plant short to get the dense effect.

Not all plant trim the same. I consider pretty lucky to get my trim effect result that i want. Do more research and you will sure succeed in no time.
