I am thinking of upgrade my existing lighting for my 2.5 fts tank. The existing light I have is 3 x 25W FL. Can I use back the same hood to house 3x36W FL instead (not sure of the length for 36W FL light). I understand that Chan from Nature provide modification, but usually how long he take to do the modification? Can I get back the light on the same day?

How about a 1x150 MH? like that don't have to keep changing PLs until the MH dies off. You also get the "shadow effect" from a single light source, very nice and you have more open space on top.

personally I think that a MH light for a 2 1/2 fts tank is an overkill.. and it don't come cheap too..

just found out that the lenght of a 36W FL light is 3fts, it won't fit into my existing hood.. maybe will switch to PL light instead..

dragon...you can consider a MV at 80 and 125 watts...DEA is using it currently in his 2ft cube tank with pretty good results...

    dragon,
For 36W FL, they only come in 4ft. 3ft is 30W. Wat you can do is change to 3X36W PL. PLs are abt 16" in length. You can do it yourself, all you need is to get the tubes and ballast (e-ballast recomended). But if you're not confident then you can give Chan a call.
    Cheers!!

    MV is perfectly fine
especially if your tank is deep (2ft and more)
