With the set up of a trading/bartering sub-forum, I think with this act of goodwill on both parties, we can help to foster interaction and bonds between members, rather than selling or buying, which may be viewed and carried out as purely a business practice.

It will also help to encourage friendships to be forged, information to be exchanged and shared between members in AQ during or even after the trade.

The real and immediate benefit for the members would be less wastage of livestock/plants/goods which they have in excess and in turn, receiving goods that they require. It could also possibly mean a reduction in the number of threads in Buy and Sell, allowing for a more streamlined and focused sub-forum.

I appeal to the admins to set up a sub-forum under probation and monitoring for the viability of such an idea.

    Cheers.

    The current marketplace allows trading.

Threads with the tag WTT (Want to trade) are for trading if items.

The only type of transactions not inside are

    1. Merchant transactions (they have their own sub forum)
    2. Mass Order (this required ID verification and it has it's own sub forum)
    3. Begging (Asking for items FOC is not allowed in AQ)

    Cheers,

    Yes I understand that point.

From the way I see it, with a sub-forum, you can encourage more trading and less selling, hence, we will be promoting fish keeping on a higher (and non-monetary) level, engaging more people through trading resulting in a better close-knit AQ community.

IMHO, the existing Marketplace is already serving everyone's needs, depending at how we look at it (our expectations).

Throughout these years, I have been giving away extra plants in Marketplace. In return, I get free food , shrimps, plants & other offers(not forgetting the aeroplanes ). All these were being offerred voluntarily (including the aeroplane).

There are few occasions when I posted WTB plants, fellow forumers PM me offering me free plants. To me, all these form a simple bartering system .

Building a good (& sincere) relationships with fellow forumers & setting a realistic expectation will lead to a pleasant & fruitful deal in Marketplace.
    Cheers,
