    The DOF nice eh? Thanks.

    Richard, near Punggol MRT

Anyway, how do these things catch something so big (relatively speaking) huh? They don't make huge webs like other spiders do they?

You never play with fighting spider during childhood times?

They just jump towards the prey and bite...

Nice one. A bit more front shot would be better I think.

Got. But as with most hyperactive little boys, I never noticed how they catch their prey. Back then, we attempted to feed those spiders with ants, not fat flies that is almost as big as the spiders. Besides, catching guppies in the drain is way more fun...

Yes, I agree with a more front shot, but due to how the spider hold the fly, it blocked the face and didn't turn out well.

BTW, the background is fake. Photoshopped.....

It's hard to shoot jumping spiders because they never stay still for long. It's good that you manage to get this. But really, some spiders catch prey that are much larger than themselves. Here's one of my old photos to join in the fun.

Wah, catch them. Hmmm ... I'll have to think about that. Usually I shoot until spider got so bored it ran away.

But seriously, spider interest group sounds fun. How to join?

If we going to catch them, then I might as well bring them home and shoot in controlled environment.
