How is your lighting? If they are not strong, glosso will grow tall. On the other hand, if ur light is strong, then glosso will spread in x-axis,rather than z-axis direction.
What about trying downoi. No need too much light.
As titled, what will be a good choice for use as forground plant ?
for low maintainese, low requirements hardy and nice..
currently using Tenellus, but they are growing so tall and doesn't look nice for my short tank...
Wonder if Gu jing is a good choice? tried HC all died... Glosso I worry will grow tall tall . APP melted..
any other suggestion?

tried downoi twice and 2 times they disappeared.. light think should be 36watt and tank is 2x1x1 with diy CO2... these few days my water temp is 30 degrees.. gujing is suffering..
Fireblade, havent seen you for awhile bro, still at arofanatics?
I believe i have mentioned before that those plants you tried previously require high tech, glosso/hc/downoi etc....
Most people would recommend hairgrass or a moss lawn, i personally wouldnt use foreground plants for low tech, just a combo of ferns, nanas, driftwood and some stem plants would do.
Staurogyne perhaps?
But currently this plant is still difficult to find (plenty at tropica) and may be expensive. The appearance resembles of mini hygrophila but it stays short like carpet plant and grows very slow. Easy to keep.
Looks good... Now where can i buy tropica plants?

Hello Verminator. I think Savant meant where to get them here in SG.
He will have to see them verified them in excellent condition before he'll buy so by post also not a option.
With that level of lighting, E. Tenellus will grow tall. Other plants, which grows well (with consistent CO2) are:
1) Fisiden
2) Anubias
3) Java fern/moss
4) Cryptocoryne
5) Vallisneria (may be too tall for the tank)
6) Crinum
7) Bolbitis
Cheers,
U.K.Lau
Maybe Cryptocoryne parva is an option.
Good lighting i find is abvisable for crypt. parva. Other than that it does fine with no CO2 or ferts. I've found when allowed to float near the top [stray plantlets i'm to lazy to replant] it grows beautiful tear/spade shaped leaf tips. When planted in the bottom where my light isnt so bright they grow alot slower and form more like flat grass.

Why not use java moss? Tie them to a wire mesh. They will grow pretty well low-tech.
Marsilea!! Moss will grow too thick eventually and will need to retie.
ck
actually thinking of crypt prava and UG but they are quite pricely for me to try..
I had enough of plants tieing to mesh .. the bottom will become so dirty and stinky when dirt accumulates...
