2 months back, I saw it in Seaview. However, I am not sure whether they still have it now.

Any advise on the requirement of this dragon Claw grass? I heard it needs cooler temperature. Saw the shop keeping it at 25.5 degrees. My tank temp is 28 degree, maybe I should give it a miss.

Notice that it grows as deep as between the substrate and the glass. Great to cover the unsightly dirt but afraid that it will grow in between the silicon and glass; thus causing leak. Just a wild guess, anyone could confirm? Thanks.

I have them doing fine in a 2 feet tank with just a fan on 24hours. Temperature is not too much an issue to keep them. I think good water and CO2 circulation will help alot for UG.

    Cheers!

They need a acclimatising time, once they get acclimatise, they should propagate and grow well. But i do think cooler water will bring out the green in them.

If temp is not that important issue to keep this plant. Then I may give it a try. Normally how long it the acclimatise time for UG (Utricularia graminifolia)?

My glosso does not seem to grow much after 2 weeks of planting. Which is harder to plant...UG or glosso? Saw some sites mentioned glosso "difficulty" is hard and UG is medium. That means UG is a easier of the two? Thanks.

Personally, I find glosso much easier to grow than HG.
Give it high light, good CO2, it grows well and fast.

I do find the two plants give two totally different feel to a tank. So it depends on the feel you want to achieve.

Actually, I may like the feel of glosso more than the UG (Utricularia graminifolia). Glosso are more flat whereas UG grows taller. But for me, after few weeks the glosso still does not really grow at all. However, I like the leaves colour of the UG as it has lighter and brighter green. Good for foreground I think.

If this UG still cannot make it, I will leave the foreground bare. Actually, it looks nice without plant too.

Finally, I managed to get this UG (Utricularia graminifolia) plant. The shop owner claimed that this is not a very popular plant as those whom planted does not like the final look of it. Thus, she normally does not keep stock and only order upon request.

Anyway, had already planted into my tank and hope it turn out well.

No HG (Hairgrass). Must have been a typo error earlier in the thread.

    Utricularia graminifolia (UG)
