I recently bought a funny looking shrimp from clementi lfs. It has got 6-7 brown strips across (not along) its transparent body. Is this the tiger shrimp you are talking about? Anyone got a pic of this type of shrimp for verification? It is a very pretty shrimp and seems to be very active in eating algae.

Malayan shrimps death rate quite high.
i've bought 100 pcs and now after about
3~5 months left only a handful.
    same result eith the following:
    1)Tiger shrimp but only at 50pcs ( Death rate 100 %)
    2)Bee shrimp at 20 pcs ( left 1 , miserable )

on the other hand , the yamatos i've bought about
10pcs are still pretty lively and "running"
    about in my tank.

i think the result speak 4 themselves
but i'll still buy malayans once in a while.
not that their'er lives r cheap of course,
which "planted tanker" wishes to see their shrimps
    die one by one ?
    just 2 cents worth.

    cheers
    best regards

Inque, there is obviously something wrong with your tank parameter that is causing high shrimp death rate. I simply cannot believe that shrimps just live one day and die the other day..no such thing. You might want to look at the temperature side of your tank or nitrate levels.

    Hi Sims,

Thats the one I bought! How much are they selling at biotope? I want to get more. They look quite industrial, constantly munching. Very pretty also.
