Fish haven currently has wild leopoldi and altums
I think most LFS should have some some as almost all of the LFS I've been to had some angelfish...at least in the west.
Y618 had quite a lot of those 2 weeks back. Y934 had a few P.leopoldi.
biotope carry them.
Getting into Fishy Business
Wild cichlids including discus and angelfish will respond readily to the owner coming to feed after they acclimatized and are feeding well.
Look at this video of Amano's altums reacting to him. Most animals' behavior can be trained and tuned especially with food as the lure over some time.
Yes I agree on that part. Cicihlids are no doubt very intelligent fishes. (perhaps the most). They will respond to the owner after a period of acclimatization.
I was referring to herd mentality of the fishes found in LFS. Now if many of them respond to strangers at first sight, then it does tell us something.
If they have been at the LFS for quiet a while and fed on a regular basis, probably they'll be able to relate people walking past their tanks to food.
