    and never put fertilizer ?

    doesnt the fishes poo enough to fertilize the sand or soil ?

    Hi, tagging on to this thread... freshfish hope you don't mind.. hehe..

    My coconut java moss is turning a bit yellow/brownish. No-tech tank. Any chance of saving it? Can I put it in clean water (or out of water?) and place it under sunlight? Would that help? Thanks.

    dont put it in direct sunlight

    put near sunlight but not direct rays

    this morning, i had it near sunlight in water and saw it bubbling a bit. good?

    not much of a problem ... alot of aquariums also put their tanks in a place with indirect sunlight

    if you consider ferns and mosses as plants, the , yes, i am growing them very well with just a hang on filter and 1 betta , and 1 sucker fish and just topping up water when it becomes low in a 2ft tank.
    no co2 also.
    can be done.
    think this should be considered low tech tank.

    good, however sunlight will cause alage growth just Becareful
