    Hi,

Another way is letting us know which algae is troubling you now and we might recommend the right type of algae eater (if any at all) for you.

For brown algae and green alage which grow on the glass, I recommend otos but they are in the range of 3cm - 4cm, nerite snails are good too since they are around 1 cm but you can't keep them in acidic water. SAEs can grow to be quite big, i.e. >5cm. and they will tend to feed on fish food (if readily available) more than algae. For hair algae, I recommend loading your tank with lots of cheap malayan shrimps which are about 2cm!

    Regards,
    T S Wang

As per my previous post, about 2cm (I think old adults are about 3cm only).

freshfish, I have started a thread for you in the LFS Sighting sub-forum as some topics are suitably better discussed in there.

Regarding the husbandry of Malayan shrimps, I would suggest you read through the threads in the Invertebrates sub-forum. There are assorted previous discussions in there.
