why I don't do garden hybrids and aquarium strains: natural species is a history of Nature, while hybrids are just the whims of Man.
hexazona · crumenatum · Galleria Botanica
Perhaps you ment S. rutilaureus this is one species I've thought it was but again it could also be S. atratus, or S. elegans. S.pelewensis the list goes on... here is a pic of mine
Love that vid by the way.

nice pictures.care to share their water parameters?or how to keep them?i fail to keep them often for more than 5months.thanks.
Getting into Fishy Business
I don't know precise parameters, but I expect my ph around 7-7.5 and in term of hardness it would be on the hard side, sorry couldn't be more helpful. Water is quite cool around 23c/73f with a good flow and high oxygen levels.
I feed them a mix theres plenty of algae in the tank supplimented with frozen bloodworm and brineshrimp, hakari algae wafers and occasional livefood and blanched cucumber (they rarely touch this though).
It does bepend what species of Stiphodon you have though, I have another unknown Stiphodon sp. that will only eat green stuff.
P.S. I've read that some species are short lived, living for only 1yr or so so maybe you got one of these species and was a few months old when you aquried them. Don't know if this is true though.
