Does anyone have any experience in these fish? There are some at the LFS and the blue eyes is very catching.
    Thanks

Have kept them a few years back in Canada... extremley easy fish to keep and breed. They breed readily in a community tank too. I remember giving some floating plants to my brother from my community tank then about 3 weeks later, he had about 10 of these little guys just appear out of no where in his 90 gallon community tank LOL. There must have been more but since his was a heavily stocked tank, most probably got eaten. I don't recall any special water parameters. Toronto water usually on the harder side about 7 - 8 ph.

So far going ok - lots of aggression between the males resulting in tattered anal fins, also two deaths...not sure why, i presume aggression. More plants are needed in the tank i think.

    Hi Mez,

I never really noticed serious aggression in mine...I had them in a 60 US gallon community tank with fish of all sizes. Yes, my tank was also heavily planted. I wonder if the aggression could possibly be space related? I'm not certain. G'luck with them!

Possibly, or maybe i just got a lot of males. Im hoping there are still some left as i want to buy a few more.
The tank is 2.5 x 1.5 x 1.5 tank sparesly planted. Will get a load more plants in there soon i think. Hopefully get some Gambusia in there too.

Ok i think my pH was a little too low, it was riding at 6.5. Altered that last week accordingly, after i was down to 5 fish. Now, 2 of the females have eggs.
