    hi.
am intending to get those small glass from ikea to do a small tank for shrimps.
Will be placing it in office. However, due to asthetics issue, i am not intending to have any filter.

Do you think it will work? can do more water change so as to make up for the lack of filter

    thank you.

    yours sincerely,
    Storm

I have colleagues who have used those betta tanks (about 6L or so) to house cherry shrimps with moss/anubias/java ferns. With a small table lamp for lighting and no mechanical filtration, they are doing well without water changes. Top up water due to evaporation. Maybe once in a few months siphoning some debris at the base.

In that case, can place them near the window but not in direct sunlight. The plants can still photosynthesize and provide the oxygen.

    Good luck.

It can work, I have done it with my shrimps , small betta tanks no filter no light, near window but not direct sunlight. I do some water change once or twice a week by siphoning out their poo poo. Sakuras and Cherries are breeding too .
    Good luck!

Probably have to keep it densely planted with moss ball, ferns etc. 1-2 pieces of cherries .

But i've never been successful with shrimps in small tanks as they die within 6-8 weeks.
