My 580EX is alive!!! Whahahaha... Did some test shots with it... here are the pics! Another one of my favorite apistos. They are one of the few apistos with amazing dorsal colors even when in neutral mood.

He thinks he's an Arowana doing the signature turn and pose shot...

His missy, a bit ragged and torn on the tail because they are consistently squabbling, but have had successful brood before!

Not sure if he will still color up. Used to have another male with the face full of red specks but died on me...

I think as the female already in breeding dress...
Should put some dither fishes to let the male naturely resume his responsibility to protect his territory...he should color up in no time.

I used to put dithers in all my apisto tanks when i started out. But they are a chore to net out when the apistos spawn. So now i breed my apistos without dithers unless any one gender is showing too much aggression then the dithers go in as some form of distractions till the aggression dies down.

Shows that the 580EX can swim! Not just splash proof. Possibly water proofed! hahaha...
But better not try it again.

    The first pic is beautiful!

Its been a week of drying it out and i gave a silent prayer before i dared to flip the switch to activate my flash. I

Thanks Benny, been some time since i started shooting decent pictures of apistos again, work's literally killing me....

Vincent, i like the first pic too, hence went on to process it. Its interesting to see that 2/3 of the fish, even though not in focus but the exposure and clarity still turns out to be not so bad after all (at least to my novice eyes ).

Thanks YX, will try to do more. Have been plagued by work and some health issues lately so didn't have the mood to sit infront of my tank for hours to shoot. I've even thought of decommissioning some tanks because its too taxing to take care of so many fishes at home...

I hope you gotten the bitaes that you've always wanted...some very nice pairs in the latest shipment.

hope you recover soon both in health and from work stress!

Work's been abit taxing for me lately too, and preparation for my upcoming wedding as well, hence I haven't had the time to check out the latest shipment yet. Will make a trip down tonight after work to take a look. Due to moving to a new place, not much space/time for new tanks yet except for the showcase 4x2x2 (Heckel/altum) tank...so temporarily facing a dearth of apistos.
