Hi, I have just bought a dozen C. pygmaeus recently and I was wondering if they are feeding properly. In the day, they stay mostly in mid water but not showing any interest to whatever food I put in. At night, they seems to be just resting singlely at the bottom of the tank and not actively seaching for food. Any opinions from the experts here?

    Thanks.

    just bought?
    wait for a while
it helps if you have established c. pygamaeus
i find that the first few i had took a while to become active seekers
after the first batch, the next few lots followed the pioneers around in looking for food

anyway, if you're worried, try feeding some sinking tablets at night, and don't stress yourself watching
    they're probably afraid of you

Thanks for all the suggestions. They were actually quite active by day, swiming to and flow as a group in midwater, sometimes taging along with my cardinal tetras. When I throw in one of those sinking cory tablet, it is usually the tetras that goes after it first follows by some other tank inhabitants, but my pygmies cotinue to go about swiming as if nothing happens.

in that case, try feeding the micropellets like the ones NA OEMs or any of those meant for small fish
feed enough to have some land on the bottom
    that should do the trick

The Pygamies I have once pass a week in the main tank, they get settled and starts to swim around actively. They luv planted tank.

Mine hunt for tiny worm emerging out from the substrate when I overfed the tank with microworm. They pull out the tiny worm like pros.

The only one I have in Taipei search the floor bed for tiny fallen foods or left over scattered wafer.
