Seems like quite a few "Lushgro" products.

Simon: Can you help to include the website address in the LFS List?

    Cheers!

so many of the product, which one is the most popular/commonly used? Do I just need one or have a combination of them?

LUSH Gro-AQUA seems to be enough already, huh?

In fact, for aquatic use, only Aqua and Micros are needed.
Aqua is sufficient. Unless you want to play with PMDD, then use Micros and other compounds like K2SO4, MgSO4 etc.

    Hi all,

I've been using Dr Mallick's Lushgro Micro for close to 2 mths already, together with my own mix of K2SO4 and MgSO4 in my 430L tank.

I do 50% water change once or twice a week, and after each water change, I added 8-10 drops of the Lushgro Micro, and follow it up with 4-5 drops everyday subsequently.

Then when I visited the website today, I got a shock that he recommended 1 drop per 100L of water, not 1 drop per 10L as printed on the bottle! My my, this means that I've overdose my tank!!!!

However, the instruction manual from the website did not state whether the '1 drop per 100L' rule applies to the weekly dosage, or whether it is a daily dosage, as I thought his formula was a derivative of the Sears-Collins PMDD paper.

    Can anyone comment on this?

However, despite my dosing regime, I only manage to register the a daily Fe concentration of 025 ppm, but it seems to be working as I'm getting less of those BBA problems, and much less green spot algae on the glass, together with K2SO4 and MgSO4.

    Cheers,

    Kenny

    Hi Kenny,

Don't worry too much...I did email Dr Mallick about his fert dosage method..he recommends using a Fe test kit as a guide but also must see how the plants react...Since yours are fine...so be it. []

    ahaz.
i don't see how using a iron test kit helps in any bit
opinions on the optimum level of iron in planted tanks vary like the tail feathers on peregrine falcons [] []

    Hi DEA,

Got to agree that the test kit is only a rough guide, and very much still depends on what can be clinically seen in our tank.

I guess after these 2 mths of 'overdosage' with the Lushgro Micro, and seeing an improvement in the algae situation, it can't be all that bad.

However, since the concoction do also contain toxic metals like Cu, I was hoping that it will not intoxicate my arowana slowly.

That said, I'd just witness my panda corys spawning in my tank! It is the 3rd cory species to have done that in this 4 fter. Unfortunately, I've not managed to save any of the eggs as they'll be gone almost as soon as they're laid, being treated as caviar by other inhabitants of the tank. Thank God I've shot some footage before!

    Cheers,

    Kenny

Haha, that's what my friends and wife said, that I'm a porn director! But seriously, this is the only legal type of porn in Singapore, I hope!

Ok, back to the topic of Lushgro micro, just yesterday after a 50% water change, I decided to use 4 tabs of Dennerle E15 and 12.5 ml of S7 and discontinued the Lushgro Micro.

Today, I can see that there's a very faint green film forming on the front glass already. Thus, I decided to test the water for Fe and true enough, the level was at 0.5ppm.

Using Lushgro micro, and supposedly overdosing by 10 times or more, I'd not reach this level of Fe concentration, usually hovering at about 0.25ppm or less.

So, maybe it is really 1 drop per 10ml after all!

    Cheers,

    Kenny
