I managed to get myself invited to the Lim Chu Kang Road runway exercise over the weekend, it was a fantastic experience hearing and feeling the jets take off at such close quarters, you can feel the jet blast as the F-16s take off on full afterburn

How high was your shutter speed Choy? Looks really sharp and stationary. Any panning shots?
I was on AV mode at ƒ/3.2 using an EF80-200/2.8L in order to get some amount of background blur. So shutter speed was typically 1/1000 to 1/2000s due to the very bright sun.
no panning, was already too busy tracking and zooming and the jets are very very fast as we were less than 30m to the runway.

Choy: Great shots ... must be quite an experience.

you should see those taken at the other end of the runway where the planes start to lift off!

We had to do the clearing of the lamp post, railings and bus stops in order to make this happen and yet we cannot get ourselves into the VIP stands to watch this except for the area on the left of the VIP stands. Oh, a hawk or eagle (not sure of the species) was shot earlier on before the planes took off due to risk of FOD.

alright here comes the" Transformer", the E-2C Hawkeye Airborne Early Warning radar plane.

the E-2C Hawkeye from 111 Sqn, with its 25m wings folded to facilitate getting in and out of tight places such as TAB's gates and aircraft carrier elevators.
Unfolding its wings and getting ready…
Good to Go!
Gunning down the AR at full throttle
Coming home… the last time an E-2C will take part in Ex. Torrent as they will soon be replaced by the Gulfstream G550.
