Hi, fellas,

A hobbyist who came to my house the other day said he didn't know that a bloodworm is actually the larva of an insect. He thought, as the name implies, that it's a worm.

I let a few bloodworms metarmorphised into their adult stages and managed to take a picture of one of them. It looks like a mosquito but the insect is known as a Chironomus. I don't know for sure but I think the name must be taken from some creature in Greek mythology. Anyone knows?
