Issit normal for a female northo to lay eggs when it is not even 2 months old? I saw a few eggs in my container with my 6-7 months old fry. Will these eggs hatch?

    Re: Eggs

It's quite normal, Jennifer. In fact, Lily collected good eggs from her Notho rubrippinis when they were only 6 weeks old and the females were really tiny.

Better put in that breeding bowl or else many eggs will be lost.

Correction. I think it should be 6-7 weeks old not months!

I usually start to breed my fish when the hit the 6th week. For the first week, you will only be able to collect a few eggs. But on the second week onwards, the fish will start to lay more eggs. There again, it depends how much you feed the fish. I usually pump the young fish in order to start the breeding programme early. This will give me a better chance of maintain the fish here rather than to lost them before collecting any eggs from them!
