I just received some Simp. magnificus from Au few hours ago. Very nice and healthy.

I placed them in my planted tank and they seems happy. Their colours are beautiful. I will check again tomorrow to see how do are living in the tank. I am a happy man .

    Freddy,

The fish don't last forever so don't forget to put in a breeding bowl.

Thanks to Au, I managed to raise quite a few of the Simp magnificus and 2 days ago, I also succeeded in hatching some of their eggs. I use a bottle as a hatching container and I put in half an oxygen tablet. I'm not sure if it's the oxygen tablet or the deeper bowl that induces hatching but this is the first time I've succeeded in hatching them in good numbers. I had 7 fry. It's not many but to me, it's a lot.

This is a picture of the hatching container I was using:

The oxygen tablet I was using didn't seem to give off many bubbles. As this is the first time I'm using such a tablet, I don't know if that's how it works.

Here's a picture of a Simp magnificus fry about 24 hours after hatching:

    Kwek Leong,

Don't mention that. Good things must be share among hobbyists.

    Freddy,

I'll try to drop some cocopeat into your mailbox in the next few days so you can carry out your breeding program.

Au, I always wonder when I read that peat moss is a good medium for some killi to spawn. but how are you going to get the peat moss or cocopeat to sink to the bottom of the tank?

I am using cocopeat and gravel for my planted, and whenever i rescape, some cocopeat might escape and float to the surface.

    any tricks?

I think Freddy would be in better position to answer this question.
