you can try gen-x they always have some in stock, though it will be more costly... you could also get some from teo.
If you are really desperate, I could pass you a small plantlet...

I just happened to buy some plants from Teo yesterday and I think I got some tiger-lotus. What is the scientific name of tiger lotus? Does anyway know a link to a picture? Just want to make sure I am getting the right stuff.
Not exactly sure, but this family, Nymphaea.

think it should look something like this...

experts please correct me if i am mistaken...
Irn Bru... it looks somewhat like what u posted, but I think what you have is not a red tiger lotus... firstly the veins show white in one of the leaves, and it lacks the distinct red patches as well...
Here is a pic from the dennerle website... however again the color here is off... in fact it seems more brown than red...next to it is the green tiger lotus
you can also click on my tank pics and look at my current setup. there is a red tiger lotus in the middle-right midground... but the pic isn't that big though.

may i know what species is mine?
Irn-bru, let it grow bigger first. It'll easier to id when the leaves take on the actual colouration/patterning.

actually it has grown quite a fair bit... and it does have some dark red patches now...
will see if i can upload the latest picture later tonight...
besides red tiger lotus being red, what other nymphaea lotus is totally red in color?
here is what it looks like today:
Irn-bru, Tripod doesn't allow external references to the pic, so no one can see the pic.
For those who want to see the pic, cut & paste the URL:

i got the lotus you had from 'Zerocool' he said that is tiger lotus too, but i went to pet safari and got a tiger lotus for 18 bucks( i feel that it is too expensive, but still buy anyway). its leave is redish with a light shade if green and brown patches. now i am really confuse, which is the real tiger?

hi learner, i have been waiting for plantlets to come out of it but not much luck since... maybe my tank is too small...
irn-bru,
I'm not 100% sure its not a tiger lotus... but it just seems to lack the red patches I associate with a red tiger lotus... also its got white veins which are quite distinct...again something I dun expect to see...
Ai ya as david would say... *lemme wear my crash helmet* thats a "red plant" []

hi guys...
posting this on behalf for my friend...
he bought a tiger lotus from simei Pet Safari, with only 3 leaves, costing $20 bucks...It spawn very well...and now he got a few spares small little stems to let go for a small price of $5. 1 small stems contains abt 10-12 leaves. think he got abt 3 to spare...
thanks..=)
hello everyone,
look at kingpin and vinz tank pics. those are the actual tiger lotus(i think). the leaves are rounder. LFS or farms usually sells it as a single plant and not in pots.
irn-bru, i checked the oriental catalogue and i think yours is a red nymphae zenkeri. petmart often sells it and the green variety for $2 per pot with about 4 to 5 plantlets. the leaves grown in farm are slightly brownish and the red spots are more obvious.
in our tanks, the leaves turn very red(very nice!) and they become more triangular as it matures. the red spots are also less obvious. irn-bru, stuff some root monsters for your plant and it will grow very big. i used to have a big one in my tank.
Hope this helps.
Wahboy.
