Welcome Heather, glad you can join us from Virginia. Your nearest killie-buddy in this forum ought to be Debra, in Maryland.
We all 'new' too, and looking forward to learning something new everyday about our killies. So don't worry about 'silly questions'... there's no such thing as a 'smart' one
As for sexing, it's usually very obvious with Fundulopanchax and less so with Aplocheilus Lineatus Golden. Males are generally bigger, with deeper shade of gold while females are smaller and not as intense.
Sia Meng has kept lots of Aplocheilus Lineatus Golden before and I'm sure he can pinpoint more details.
HTH (Hope This Helps) and have a pleasant stay. BTW, how did you find our little corner?
I'm back & keeping 'em fingers wet,
Ronnie Lee
