    Hi everyone,
Does erect moss physically attach to wood in the tank, or does it always need to be held down with line?

I just used mono line to hold mine on the wood, but was wondering if it would attach and spread like java or christmas moss does?
    Regards,

    Dave,

Java and Christmas Moss creep along driftwoods but the Erect grows straight up. So unlike the former 2, the Erect Moss won't form into a thick mat. What you will get eventually is a big bush of moss. They are attached to each other but the fronds on the outsides of the bush tend to come loose. The moss sinks when it's not attached to anything. I'm not sure if the main stems of the Erect attach themselves to the driftwood. To find out, I will have to strip off almost all the moss on my driftwood and I don't want to do that now.

Anyway, since your Erect is growing well in your tank, the strings will become invisible in a short while.
