I hope this will be ok even it is no killie question (I dont know where to ask and You all have much more knowledge than me in asian fishes).

I bought seven of a species called Garra hugini/hughi (picture below). I dont think it is that species but couldnt find any close looking fish. Do any of you know what kind of species it is?

Another question; I have two diffrent kinds of Rasbora pauciperforata one with a red line and the other kind with a golden line (shown below). Will this be the same species with diffrent locals or two diffrent species?

    Any answer will be good

yes Rasbora pauciperforata is known to have colour variability on the stripe.

Your other fish definitely is not a Garra. Quite definitely a loach but which kind I'm suspecting something in the Nemacheilus or Schistura genera. Can check at Loaches Online
why I don't do garden hybrids and aquarium strains: natural species is a history of Nature, while hybrids are just the whims of Man.

    Thank you.
I will ask about my "garra" at Loaches Online.

Do you know why there is a diffrence in stripecolor; food, water, north, south orsubspecies?

yes, loaches online has quite a lot of pics so you can scan through the species list see if any look like yours.

as for the rasbora, it is believed that they're locality variants but have not achieved subspecies status. In fact I have never seen the gold-striped version but was told they appear now and then in the shops.

There is a similar species with a bright yellow stripe the Rasbora agilis. I have had both and the body shape is a bit different. You can check my hexazona/images folders for the pics.

Indian Aquarium Hobbyist but think you'd have better luck in loaches.com, but no harm looking around

    Hi!

I second Choy that this is deffinitely not Garra sp. It is a loach. I have a feeling it is an Acantocobitis sp. but I'm not sure. As for the Rasbora puaciperforata, they have golden stripe up here in the southern Thailand, their northern most distribution.
