hi guys , recently bought a male fighting fish and put him in my 1 ft planted tank. next i introduced a female fighting and he started to flare up like he just met a male. he chased the female away . the female hid in between the plants and the male started to built a lump of bubbles !! man it started to surface out of the water , now its a lump.

1 thing is for sure , the male still tries to woo the female but the female sometimes choose to join in but most of the time she tries to run . anyone have experience in this ? btw i have another female in the tank but she don't seem to bother either of her tank mates. can i put pleco in this tank ? thinking of getting a few pleco but im gonna use a slow /adjustable outlet for my internal filter and temp is in the high range 26-28

What you have done is stimulate the spawning instinct of the pair.

The female will probably spawn with the male in a couple of days. After that, the male will probably try to kill the female.

Don't think the frys will survive because of the high no. of fish in the tank.

Aiyoh.... basic animal instinct, you put male and female together, sure something will happen. What you describe is typical behaviour when you put male and female betta in the same tank. You never read up ah? (tio-meh....)

Better to separate them. Either put a male or a female into a community tank but not both.
Another quality, non aquatic-related post from mrs budak!

If your tank is big enough, you can actually keep 1-2 males in the same tank. My friend kept 2 males in a 1m tank before with minimal damage to their finnage.

You could also consider using fancy plakats (NOT black devil plakats used for fighting). They heal faster because of their shorter tails, but is still a sight to behold

they is no pleco yet , no money T_T. so right now its just the father , a slow internal filter and woods... lots of it

spawning has occur....congrats on being a 'father'
but now you have to get ready some food for the fries...
they will hatch within 2-3 days...
get some baby brine shrimps ready...

once you see the fries free swimming...scope out the father...
lower the water level to bout 0.5 to 1 cm..
this is to allow the fries to go to the surface to breathe
if water level too high...they cant breathe then will drown..

no need any air pump or filter wat so ever..as they may suck the
small small fries into the filter..

then after a few days then change water then water level
    still 1cm + -

do take note...baby brine shrimps hatch every 24 hours or so...

    for further info..
