Read the Microworm thread by CM Media and started me thinking...

I know most of us rear live food to feed our fries. I have personally tried hatching brine shrimps.

However, I wonder if anyone rears live food to feed adult fish instead. I know it's not advisable to buy live food due to parasite concerns, so it's best to start our own culture in order to ensure no parasites. maybe the super worms may be free of parasites, unlike blood worms, etc, but way too big for my tetras and apistos.

My question: what kind of live food are available and how to start a parasite free culture? what comes to my mind now are:
    blood worms
    tubiflex worms
    mosquito larvae
    fly maggots

there are probably other types which the experts out there would be aware of. would appreciate it all knowledge transfers THANKS!
    Cheers
