    Hi folks,

    I was tidying up and making room for 2 more tanks when I stumbled upon a box of 7 ziploc'ed old peat, dating back to 2002.

    While not expecting any fry, it would be interesting to see what turns up.

    7 ziploc bags of eggs, 2002 collection. Labels on bag, clockwise;
    [1] N. eggersi - coll: May 26, wet: Aug 16
    [2] N. rachovii?? - bagged 020707, wet 021007
    [3/4] 2 bags - Simp MAG or N. RAC?? - bag: 5 Aug, wet: 5 Nov
    [5] Austrolebias nigripinnis de Camelo - harvest: Apr 18 02, wet: july 15th 02
    [6] Austrolebias nigripinnis de Camelo - rewet Aug 16th
    [7] N. eggersi - collect: 020708 (from belly sliders)

    Some of the peat are bonedry, some still moist (like dry tobaco). Added a soaking wet sponge to 'prewet'(?)

    ... and back into the box for full dunking on 040419

    While on the issue of old peat, I'd like to know what others have gone through. Comments?

    PS: Dates are in yy/mm/dd format
    I'm back & keeping 'em fingers wet,
    Ronnie Lee

    Ron,

    I found a bag of 7 month old N. rachovii peat & decided to wet for 'fun'. Out came 20 over fry . That was 'declared egg-less' after 5 wettings. Fry are doing well now. During those forgotten months, bag was not open & was left in the cabinet in the dark. It will be interesting to see what comes out of your peat.
