    Hi everyone,
    I was able to get a stalk of Downoi about three weeks ago. It is shooting out new leaves, and of course, I would like to propagate it.

    Can anyone who has done it give me some advice of what to do?

    Dave,

    There are 2 ways you can go about propagating the Downoi. If you want to have many of them in a short time, cut off the new stalks and plant them individually as they branch out from the main stem. Teo's Aquatics grew many stalks by following this routine diligently. However, this method seems to stunt the plant and they won't grow very tall. But keeping them short is what most hobbyists would prefer, I suppose.

    I'm lazy so I prefer the other method which is to do nothing. The Downoi will still propagate and the new stalks form a cluster around the base of the plants. The Downoi can grow pretty tall they are left untouched. Here are some pictures:
