Green dot in some eggs of EXO...
What can I do for them?

What you are seeing is the lipid droplet inside the egg that the fry are feeding off. It is green because you have fed them something with a lipid soluable green pigment. By feeding fish lots of red or orange food you can get a wide range of other colours. I don't think you have anything to worry about. It does not look like algae to me.

Kim, nice to have you back. Thought you've gone missing or gave up on killies!

The EXO is one pretty fish but their growout is slow. Update me on how you get along. I've a reversed trio and conditioning them for the 'honeymoon'.

Tyrone, I don't think you have your glasses on. What fry?? It hasn't hatched yet!

From what I understand, developing fry rely on their egg sac for nourishment until they're ready for the new world... or am I missing something here?

Thank's Erikthur. Yes, I meant fed the parents with the green lipid soluable pigment. And yes Ron, the correct term is embryoe not fry. Silly me.

Ah... that makes sense! Erik, thanks for pointing that out.

Kim, have you been feeding the breeders with a spirulina-spiked diet?

This brings up a pet peeve of mine. Newly hatched fish are not fry, either. They are larvae. I use the term babies. Look up "fry" in your dictionary.

BTW, the plural is not "fries" but "fry." Fries are what you get with your Big Mac. :-)

Wright, according to this, 'fry' is defined as "Small fish, especially young, recently hatched fish"

If 'fry' is not applicable, how about 'hatchlings'... which isn't any different

BTW, Kim, how did you managed to get those great shots of the developing eggs?

I discovered the same thing, just after posting my note.

That is a new meaning, added in recent years. Before, it always referred to young adult fish.

Thanks for pointing it out, and I stand corrected.

Being my pet peeve had no affect on the folks at Merriam Webster. They just changed the meaning to agree with common usage.

Wow! This is a rare moment! I'm gonna celebrate with champagne and candle-light dinner tonight!

Seriously tho, many people still think that 'many fry' = frys (or worse, fries). Those who took English lessons from Kwek Leong would know better

Thank you for your comments guys. :)

Thank you for your comments guys !

I don't have any idea whether their parents have been fed Spirulina based
flake or something else, because I've just started EXO with these eggs.

Hi, Ron. Nice to see you again.
The hottest summer of this year, was a huge challenge for me and other
killi-friends in Korea. We've lost many fry of non-annuals and SAA
in vane. Yet, we are still keeping our fingers on wet.

    p.s. I couldn't find a adapter for my digital camera(41mm) in a reliable price,
and so, this picture is a close-up shot of microscope's eyepieces, in fact. (X100)
