Just to share, a new photograph of a new addition to my killie family, courtesy of Turaco aka Gan who passed me a trio of really cute young Simp. magnificus. Thanks for the fish Gan  . They're really chowing down on tubifex worms. At this rate they'll be all grown up in no time. Another piece of good news, I found some healthy fry in the hatching tray from the last batch of fulminantis eggs that came from my last spawning group.

This young male is just 2cm long and already showing alot of colour. A juvenile Simp. flammeus male (the sole survivor from a bag of eggs that came from Denmark) being housed in the same plastic tank isn't showing much colour but growing a rather long anal fin. Looks just like a female but isn't one. Finnage and slight colouration not clearly seen in the picture.. Both taken through a scratched plastic tank so pardon the sudden scratches seen.

And yes, all of these little ones are my precious.

The bearer of the ring (magnificus) a while back was Robert Nhan of Fremont, CA.

It's easy to see why he won Best of Show at the AKA Convention with a more mature pair, a few years ago. They are one of the smallest fish to ever win that prize, I suspect. [They make up in gaudy what they lack in kilograms.]

Howard Wu gave me some eggs, but I managed to kill the few that I got to hatch. I'll try to find more, some day.

I think I made a mistake, the young flammeus has grown much much bigger. I think its a female but its starting to show some hints of barring in the body. Confusing little bugger.

Took a whole new image of one of my new magnificus males from Gan. Really cute buggers. They are not very shy compared to my larger male that I obtained from Ronnie.
