Congratulation! At least you have success in the DIY. Keep it that way, you probably has the right formula.

    There are 2 ways:
    1) Control the CO2 dissolve rate in the tank. If you are using inverted cup type, lift the cup high and nearer to the water surface.
    2) Branch the CO2 oulet into 2. Let some CO2 escape into the air.

Try to reduce the amount of yeast. Should help to reduce CO2 output and lasts longer.

The bubbling effect will reduce over time as the sugar becomes less in the mixture.

Check your CO2 level first with this kind of bubbling rate. Only if the levels exceed the safe level then you can consider controlling the amount of CO2 being diffused into the water. I suspect, however, the amount is just enough.

    Hi all,

I've also made my own brew of DIY CO2, but must've put in a little too much yeast as it overflowed out to the tubing. Nevertheless, I'll still monitor on the flow rate and perhaps give it less yeast on my next concoction. Maybe the experienced planters can tell if I've got the right recipe?

2 cups of sugar (aprox 250g)
    7 g dried yeast
water level up to the label of a coke bottle 1.5l

    Thanks.

    Cups? My goodness.

I probably use less than half a cup. I fill sugar to about 2cm from the bottom of the (empty) bottle, fill with water to 2/3, and a sprinkling of yeast. It gives me C02 for two weeks.
