    Hey all,
Anyone have good experience with this fish? I recently purchased some (which seems hard to find in the US). I love 'em but they are very shy. I must draw them out with food and a small bribe . I have them in a heavily planted tank but wanted to know if they always remain shy or if people have had good luck in drawing them out. I have 15 that seem real happy with my R. maculata. Thanks for the advice,

    David

They're a schooling species from Myanmar. Not too shy in my opinion but yes they need to be lured out during feeding.

Apart from that bit, a friend of mine mentioned that they're fin nippers. I'm not sure if they'll be fine with Boraras but I don't see a problem since both are pretty small fish to begin with.

Fin nippers ? That's not good. It's good the maculatas don't have lots of fin to nip in the first place but I'd hate to know what they go after when there's no more fins to nip.... Oh well, just requires more feeding to ensure they are full.

They seem to do this when they are under-fed. As long as you keep them happy with regular feedings of live food I bet they'll stay clear of nipping.
