Finally caught the larger of the 3 out on the front glass. The other 2 are back
in the left rear corner all the time and are about 1/2 inch long. The one
    pictured is 3/4-7/8" in length.

Hope to get some better pics, later.

Congrats! Sure is a cute little fish. What have you been feeding them? The largest of my splendopleure are now 3/4(2 females) to 1 inch(1 male).

I've been feeding the adults frozen blood worms, frozen brine shrimp, and
live mosquito larvae. In 2 of the corners of the tank I sprinkle some bits
of Hikari micro-pellet (excellent food!) for the babies. Of course, they are
also feeding on rotifers from all the moss/plants I have in there

Wright was complaining about fuzziness, so here is a more recent effort:
    Still not quite there, yet...

Yeah, but gobs sharper than some you sent me off list.

I think really clear fins need a very smooth flat background to show up well, don't you? No way we can get that in a regular tank, tho, and I hate to disturb young fish just to get another bad picture.

Well, I hate to be called the traumatizer of baby fish (though I think I just
have ) so this draws to a close, baby's photosplash Good point,
well taken, Wright. I tried to place a swatch of black velvet behind baby,
but he/she kept swimming off the spot! Not.... :P

Bill, if you're using the macro function, it might look a lot better. But that depends on how fast your camera lens is when it comes to focusing on the subject. I learn to anticipate the movement of the fish by observing them and have been lucky on some occasions. Lure it to a feeding corner and then snap a pic when its staying in one spot for some time.

    Jian Yang,
The Sony doesn't have a macro mode per se, but can get quite close with
manual zoom. I need to get some 62mm close-up lenses for this camera
if I want to get closer to the subject. Which reminds me I have to add
another search to My Favorites on ebay.

Great tip about luring to corner with food!

, well at least that trick works for me. I occasionally have bits of tubifex worms in some of the pictures I take.. but a little cropping and blurring helps to reduce or remove the visibility of the tubifex in the final image.

Jian Yang, can't get live Tubifex in the states, that I know of. Just the
freeze-dried cubes. Here's a pic of one of the mama fish:
