I think at least a few of you must be keeping these or a similar kind. I've been thinking of keeping a few by themselves and was wondering if anyone has tried putting them in a tank with Aphyosemion(specificiall A. splendopleure). Might be a dumb question but will they get eaten? Pretty sure the offspring will be lunch most of the time.

My experience with crustaceans in killy tanks is that they don't usually make it. They are too vulnerable when they molt, so you need a lot of rockwork for them to hide in until the new exoskeleton hardens.

Killies love "soft-shell-crab" for dinner. :-)

If they were together since young. I suppose the fish would know that those are not meant for them to eat. Those ghost shrimp that were with S.FUL collected from from KL's place with living peacefully with the adult fishes.

But with Aph. it is hard to tell the outcomes.

I assume we are talking about Neocaradina dentriculata... I have this and another larger species. My Chrom. poliaki had no trouble consuming the unmolted larger shrimp species...

On the other hand my striatum, punctatum and australe largely ignored the shrimp.

You will have to experiment and see what survives with who.
