Hi guys, recently change my tank due to bowing of front glass and thus rescape my tank as well. I added a number of cabomba caroliniana to the new tank but after just one week, it is showing deficiency of calcium with distortion of new leaves. My base fert is thick though...wondering if I should get seachem equilibrium for increasing my calcium level? Anybody with experience in using seachem equilibrium as an additive to prevent calcium deficiency as the instructions on the product shows that the dosage rate is actually for DI/RO water..

    Peter,

I use Equilibrium to dose my K Ca and Mg... basically I use it at 1/3 recommended dosage...

Allen...do you monitor the GH level with the use of equilibrium?

Allen, how much ppm K does 1/3 dosage give you approximately?

Eggz...standard dosage would give you 80 mg/l of potassium! [:0] Which is also equal to 80ppm! 1/3 of it is 26.6 ppm []

A safe way would be Seachem Equi but I find quite costly to maintain Ca. I'm in a process of using Calcium Nitrate from Dr. Mallick and so far my distorted leaves have been minimised.

Problem now is the dossage I'm trying to work out. Presently I'm dosing 1tbs for my 400L tank.
    Cheers!!

Sorry haven't popped in for 2 days... as mentioned, 1/3 dosage brings K to about 26ppm and raises GH by 1dGH.
