    Hello everyone,
just managed to lay my hands on some Betta Falx here from a hobbyist, they are about 2cm in length, fries you can say. Home bred by the gentleman, was just wondering if anyone here has had any experience in keeping them. Any tips or pointers in keeping will do. They will be feeding on Frozen daphnia, mysis, cyclops, Artemia and black mosquito larvae. To remind you all of these are frozen. Getting a tank about 3ft for them(12nos Betta Falx), is the size of the tank enough? Will be getting a sponge filter, plants and moss in the tank. Any other thing? Will not be C02 supplemented, just good soil from Aqua Medic.

    Regards

Hi guys just posting a few pics of the Bettas. Sorry for the poor quality, the male is doing his ritual with the female in these pictures.

Congratulations Nikhil. I suppose you'll have a bunch of fry to take care of soon.

congratulations on your B. Falx. I keep bettas as well, but mostly the show type betta splendens, though we do have a few wild bettas as well. But you have a nice Mouthbrooder there. Congratulations.

For more info about B. Falx please visit a site that I enjoy a lot

    Betty splendens is the website.

From the photo the water looks brown with Tannins and I am guessing you are keeping them in slightly acidic to acidic water. And they look like they are thriving well! So keep it up.

The only other thing that I'd recommend is live food, but if they are already taking the frozen ones you are giving, then that is good enough.

    Have fun!

    Hi Arvin and Stormhawk,

Thank you for the compliments. The fish are just holding eggs as of now, i have 2 of the males holding eggs for the past 3 days.

Arving i just wanted to know which part of the world are yu in right now? If in europe, would you know any breeders of wild bettas from whom i could lay my hands on more exotic species?

    Regards
