I bought a pair of B. sp mahachai The male B. sp. mahachai is pale, rather listless, and has swollen lips. One of his gills is also protruding more than the other. His color is to the point that I thought he was dead a few times. Currently in a 10 gallon with the female he came with. Temp at about 76, original tap ph 7.5 but I added banana leaves. Treating with melafix and daily 50% water changes. The weird thing about this fish is that it is trying to blow a bubblenest for the female, and she comes in to check on his progress alot. Should I remove her? Does this sound like columnaris?

Please help! I really want to save this guy and would hate to leave a widower.
