I've brought some Taiwan moss to the office to grow before planting them at home. Thinking of killing two birds with one stone and use the moss to breed shrimps as well.

Anybody with advice as to which shrimps are easier to breed, cherry or yamatos? Any special requirements in terms of water conditions?

    Thanks in advance.

Cherry shrimps are smaller and can breed easily (compare to yamatoes).
Cherry add colour(red) to your tank.
Much smaller and better for very small tank (1ft).

Yamatoes shrimps are much bigger but cannot breed in our tank condition.
Yamatoes can also fight for fish food. They grab the fish food and 'run off' to eats!

    The choice is yours.

Cherry of course! My cherry shrimps(got from nature) had breeded after a month(I guess.. hardly see them until seeing babies), now babies are growing fast .
You need established tank with lots of plants. Moss is good. Lights for the development of algae & for moss to grow. Tey will feast on that. Was told those red ones are the female as they carry eggs. If you can keep them alive(Which is easy. Remember, established tank!), they will breed in no time n babies grow quite fast. No feeding necessary for my case. Tank mates include some tetras & a lazy tiny puffer fish(Not recommended!!) My tank is very very dense though.
Yamato? Breeding process is difficult as they need certain level of salt. You will see full grown yamato with eggs but normally they won't hatch in tank condition.
    Good luck!
