Is there really any shrimp friendly med out there? there are brands which don't say they are harmful to shrimps but are they really? Anyone has concrete evidence of any med that doesn't affect plants or shrimps? esp for fin rot?

I've used myxazin in my tank with yamato and plants for fungus/finrot problems no problems seen... they are healthy and still alive many months later.

MelaFix from Aquarium Pharmaceuticals is good for fin rot too. It's basically an antibacterial remedy that repairs damaged fins and open wounds quite quickly. Tried it and it does not affect the shrimps. Gives off a nice smell also.

    Cheers,
I have dwarf cichlids in my tanks! Do you?

Go for the root cause of the problem which is water quality....do more frequent small water changes to improve the situation. []

Have tried MelaFix on a goldfish with serious fin rot and open wounds on the body. Within 3 days, can see significant improvement on the condition and everything is under control.

    ehh..

fin rot only occurs when your water is very FUBAR
if you have healthy plants you should not see this at all
    even better, change your water
