Anyone have positive experience with growing Jap Hairgrass in a low tech tank with no artificial lighting, only room light or sunlight?

I experience very slow growth without CO2 injection although I was using PL light. With direct sunlight, I can foresee green water.

Speed of growth aside, any idea whether it will survive in such a set up?

with only room light ,I think it's hopeless.
with sunlight it's possible, only if you get the direct one for sufficient hours ( but gonna get a very tough battle with algae)

Hopeless as it will sure die? Am thinking of adding LED lights, if not, yah I should do away with hairgrass in such a setup.

And yes, going to be a tough battle with algae if under direct sunlight, and temperature sure shoots up as well.
