Hi guys. I recently thought that i had an algae problem on this unidentified plant, as when i turn the lights on in the morning the tips are always red, but by 3 hours later they are a nice green colour. I am unsure of the plant ID because my girlfriend bought it me, any help would be appreciated.
The tank is fairly new, and has had inhabitants for over a month, and the tank was fully cycled for 3-4 weeks before adding any fish (used prawn method to cycle). Fish are now a pair of Java Rice Fish, a Dwarf Freshwater Puffer, 2 Skunk Botias and a SAE.
Lighting is 3x15w T8 tubes, as this is all the tank will allow in the hood. The tank is 24x15x15 inches. Here is the photo.

    Thanks for any advice,
    James

    The plant is Bacopa Caroliniana.
There's also a reddish variety. Click here to see the pic I got off google.

Thanks for the positive ID juggler.
Any idea on the colour changing? The tips only appear red in the morning...then green all day.
How should this plant fair in my limited lighting? Works out at 2.3 WPG UK or 1.9 WPG USA...

Its normal. When I had it in the morning when I went to turn on the lights it had a bronze red tint to it, It was pretty nice but it would go away. soon until the next day.

When planting the Bacopa in an aquarium environment, it should be taken into account that any stemmed plant will grow to a good height, meaning that regular trimming should take place to prevent the plants from getting out of control, which will considerably reduce its allure and prevent the free flow of light to the bottom of the tank.
