Just want to share my Xmas gift with you guys

Discovered this cute little nano package at a LFS in Balestier this afternoon. Didn't expect to find anything new actually... so this is a pleasant surprise and a fitting Xmas gift for myself

I was told that these nanos (come in 10L, 20L and 30L) arrived only yesterday!

This is the tank, bought the smallest version (10 Liters) so that I can put it on my work desk. There's my phone next to the tank for scaling.

To read more, visit Dennerle's Webbie Too bad they have not translated the site to English

As a packaging designer myself, I must say that the Germans got it right this time The green against the black... and the CRS... very memorable imagery!

The overall feel is very un-German actually. They are learning from the Japanese and the Americans for sure.

    Amano-style step-by-step guide.

They even have layout suggestion plan.

The back remains uncovered so that we can peep what's inside

Even the internal parts are packaged very nicely... obviously a large proportion of the selling price goes to the packaging (and the designer)

All-in-one package (starting with the tank, clockwise):
    1) Glass tank with front curved edges
    2) Glass tank cover with transparent plastic holders
    3) Internal filter with integrated rainbar – find this pretty useless in today's context
    4) Nano Light 9W PL with Dennerle tube
    5) CRS food
    6) Black background sticker
    7) Instruction leaflets
8 ) Anti-chlorine (blue), Plant fertilizer (green) and Shrimp Vitamins (red)
    9) Black foam tank base

Saw these nano tanks at NA yesterday too.

Hope to see all the packaged stuff in action. What kind of scape are you planning to do with it?

Very tempted to buy. But 2 new tanks last month had already kept me busy And the price is above $100. The other but is I don't really like curve tank. I like the light.

    Hi,
it's interesting to see that these new tanks finally arrived in Singapore, too. May I ask you how much do they cost? In Germany the tank alone costs about 25Euro/50S$. The whole package costs about 80Euro/160S$. It's pretty expensive and yes, the included filter is useless.

I just got the 10l tank 3 months ago, build a DIY 7W PL light and use a tiny AZOO HOT filter. It's a great tank for taking pictures, which is the main purpose of my tank.

    It looks like this:

More infos about my tank can be found here: http://flickr.com/photos/17723972@N08/3089044889/

    regards
    Robert

I'm sure Dennerle would've thought of that... there's only 1 way to find out The interesting thing is... this is the first time Dennerle introduce an all-in-one Plant Fertz.

Thinking of primarily Xmas moss tank (to go along with the theme) Will feature in greater details every part of the package.

I only have time to realize my imagination today... been crazily busy for the past few days.

Decided to create something UNREAL and thematic this time round.

Let's start with the creation of my Xmas tree

    1) Plastic mesh (cut to shape)
    2) Xmas moss
    3) Riccia line and wood tight

Sandwiched the Xmas moss between 2 layers of plastic mesh... secure with Riccia line.

Once done, I fold the sandwiched mesh into a cone shape with a piece of rock hidden inside (for weight)

The end result of my surreal scaping using sand as white as snow and Zebra rock brought back from Japan

The lighting effect is not ideal as the back seems to be a bit dark (as seen in pix above). The addition of the Iceprobe (50W chiller) sitting on top of the tank limits the light spread.

Saw this Dennerle nano sets at C328 also, very nice tank set. Looks better than the GEX genoah series, doesnt have that 'plastic' feel there.
