To Friends of Project Amazonas
From Friends of ROW- Rivers of the World
Dec. 9, 2008
Dear Friends,
For years, we have all enjoyed our adventures upon the Tucanare in Peru.
Albert, Devon and the staff do an amazing job! Well- what if we were to
build a larger ship? More space - but also a hospital capable vessel?
Imagine it!
Project Amazonas, ROW, the Ministry of Health of Peru, and the
University of Mississippi Medical School have partnered to raise the
funds to build just such a ship! We come at this with a common cause,
but different backgrounds.
You know Project Amazonas. University of Mississippi Medical School and
the Ministry of Health of Peru will do medical work! ROW, Rivers of the
World, is a faith based organization that serves world wide using rivers
as a way to get to people. We are a very broad based non-profit
organization with work in Cambodia, Vietnam, Congo, Kenya, Peru, Brazil,
Dominican Republic, Venezuela, Bolivia, Nicaragua, Belize, and Honduras.
We do academic research, health related issues, nation building,
education, as well as basic Christian ministry.
Together we bring a multifaceted approach to the rivers of the Loreto
Region!
The ship will cost close to $350,000 to build and will require $2000 a
month to house and feed. We need your help! ROW is handling the
book-keeping and fund raising for a great majority of this project. We
can’t do it alone and Devon has asked me to ask you to help!
Donations can be sent to our office made out to ROW with a memo that
it’s for the Peru ship and sent to:
